Respect went to the theatre!

Respect’s Operations Director answered audience questions after watching a new play dealing with male domestic abuse.

Our Ops Director, Ippo Panteloudakis, was invited to attend a performance of The Black Eye Club at the Bread and Roses Theatre in South London, and take questions from the audience.

The Black Eye Club is the debut stage play for Phil Charles (award-winning scriptwriter, having written for series such as SHAMELESS, DOCTORS and MURPHY’S LAW) who was propelled to write it after witnessing cuts to council budgets and their disastrous impact on services for those affected by domestic abuse.

Audience members asked questions about ways to support male victims of domestic violence, without the perpetrator becoming aware of their involvement.
