Respect runs a programme of events for frontline workers, service managers, commissioners, funders, policy workers and researchers.

Our events are aligned with the core strands of work: perpetrators of domestic abuse, male victims and young people’s violence in close relationship; and support our ethos of high quality and safe service provision.

Working with Male Victims of Domestic Abuse-training course

This training course  is designed to help frontline workers make best use of the Respect Toolkit for Work with Male Victims of Domestic Abuse (3rd edition, 2019), so they can better support the men they work with.   The Toolkit uses valuable insight and data analysis from over 31,000 calls to the Men’s Advice Line; and findings from practice, policy and research.     Course Objectives:  Develop understanding of key terms/concepts and legislation;  Understand the domestic abuse experiences of men and their help-seeking barriers;  Identify additional challenges and help-seeking barriers for GBT* men or men from specific ethnic backgrounds;  Learn to identify…
